Our History

The Citizens State Bank of Marysville was chartered with $30,000.00 Capital on January 10, 1907 and opened for business on March 7, 1907 at 805 Broadway, Marysville, Kansas. The building was described as “a model of beauty” as the fixtures were of Marble and Mahogany.

The Citizens State Bank of Marysville purchased the Herkimer State Bank on March 7, 1931. This was hailed by the Herkimer State Bank as a way to offer their customers “Increased Banking Services.” In 1933, The Citizens State Bank of Marysville moved into the former First National Bank building at 800 Broadway, Marysville, Kansas and remained there until February 15, 1973, when fire destroyed the three story white brick building. A relief facility was established. The Citizens State Bank of Marysville opened a new bank facility at the 800 Broadway location on February 15, 1975. This continues to be the main banking facility today. A drive thru location was added at 800 Center Street,Marysville, Ks in 1992. The Waterville location was merged in 1994, and the Hanover location was merged into the bank in 1996.

The Citizens State Bank has assets in excess of $415 Million and offers a complete line of banking products. The staff of 40 employees, with over 600 years of banking experience, have been providing excellent service to this area for over 117 years.
